Took the survey but was disappointed that there wasn't an area for additional feedback.
Here is mine: My wife and I are both teachers and we stopped giving to the United Way when they decided to stop giving to the Boy Scouts of America. Many of our friends did likewise. Maybe you should revisit this terrible decision.
Thanks for listening.

Frank,
Thank you for your feedback. Actually, United Way for Southeastern Michigan (UWSEM) does fund its partner agency Boy Scouts of America (BSA) councils: Clinton Valley Council and Detroit Area Council.. (See http://www.uwsem.org/aboutus/agencies.html for a full list of our partners.)
We recognize the community concern surrounding the BSA and the gay and lesbian community. We have followed this issue closely and have made decisions that best serve our community’s children and youth, while also laying the groundwork to provide an environment in which issues of minority groups can receive focus and support within United Way.
UWSEM will continue funding its partner agency BSA councils: Clinton Valley Council and Detroit Area Council. Our decision to do this is simple. The need for youth serving programming far exceeds what is available.
At the same time, we recognize that not enough has been done to address the concerns raised by the gay and lesbian community. That is why United Way is committed to increasing its ability and capacity to concentrate on new and emerging community issues.

How much funding had been given to the Boy Scouts 10 years ago, 5 years ago and now?
Thanks,
Corinna
