Leadership Next^SM is a United Way for Southeastern Michigan (UWSEM) program supporting the region’s emerging leaders in making positive community impact.  UWSEM is one of over 100 United Ways in the country working to effectively engage the community’s emerging leaders.

Mission: 
Engaging emerging talent to create a vibrant and caring community in the Detroit region.
           
            To do this Leadership Next^SM will: 

• Strengthen leadership skills through educational workshops
• Coordinate business, civic and community mentoring opportunities
• Develop meaningful volunteer experiences
• Organize events that encourage cross-industry collaboration
• Support members in their efforts to affect public policy

Who qualifies to be a part of Leadership Next^SM?
Anyone who believes in the potential of our region, registers online and is (or becomes) a United Way donor.

What are the benefits for the community?
Leadership Next^SM will encourage members to take ownership in their community, connect them to opportunities in the region and equip them with the resources to make the changes needed -- in the neighborhoods and the boardrooms. By tapping into this region’s potential, Leadership Next^SM will compel talented and passionate people to remain in Southeastern Michigan in order to help guide it towards a bright future.

• Participate in skill-building w orkshops hosted by community business leaders
• Transform the community through volunteer events
• Attend CEOs: Off the Record, a series of discussions between CEOs and a small group of members
• Network with peers across industries
• Influence the events, activities and volunteer opportunities of Leadership Next^SM
