How do I become a member of Leadership Next^SM?

What are the age requirements for membership of Leadership Next^SM?
There are no age limitations on membership.

I donated to United Way last year through my employer, does that make me eligible for Leadership Next^SM membership?
YES! If you donated last year through your employer, please include the name of your employer and the amount and method of your donation on the online registration form.

What are the benefits to becoming a member of Leadership Next^SM?
Leadership Next will enable members to take more ownership in their community, connect them to opportunities in the region, and equip them with the resources to make necessary changes from neighborhoods to boardrooms. By tapping into this region’s potential, Leadership Next^SM will compel talented and passionate people to remain in Southeastern Michigan in order to help guide the region toward a bright future.

What is the Leadership Team?
The Leadership Team will guide Leadership Next^SM in its efforts to refine its mission and goals, and implement a series of metrics to reach those goals.

Can I be a part of Leadership Next^SM without being on the Leadership Team?
YES! You do not have to be on the Leadership Team or one of the standing committees to participate.

How much time am I required to put forth to maintain my membership?
How much you participate is entirely up to you! However, those who commit more time gives you access to additional opportunities.

What is the minimum donation for Leadership Next^SM?
There are no minimum donation requirements for membership. You simply have to be a donor.

How is Leadership Next^SM different from other emerging leader programs?
Regionalism - Leadership Next^SM (and by extension, United Way) is focused on regional collaboration. We believe that young leaders are more regional in their thinking than any other demographic in Southeastern Michigan. United Way's Leadership Next^SM is about convening those leaders to shift the way that the region moves forward. Similar to the current efforts of One D, Leadership Next^SM could be considered the next generation of One D leaders. This is NOT about creating yet another young leaders group. This is about collaboration and working differently.

I live outside of Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties, but work in that area. Am I eligible to become a Leadership Next^SM member?
Yes, but you must contribute to United Way for Southeastern Michigan, either through your workplace or independently.

I attended the Leadership Next^SM Launch, is that the same as registering as a member of Leadership Next?
No. The Leadership Next^SM Launch was an opportunity for prospective members to obtain more information before deciding whether or not to become members. If you would like to become a member, please complete the Leadership Next registration form.
